CASTELLO ROMEO
The
eighteenth-century
Castello Romeo
retains the
charm and
enchantment of
a perfectly
preserved
historic place
in time.
Romeo belonged
to the Marquis
of Torrazza,
hosted the
Royal Family
of Italy
Vittorio
Emanuele III
and Queen
Elena, Crown
Prince Umberto
II and
Princess
Mafalda and
Giovanna of
Savoy, and was
framed by the
social
occasions
arranged for
the officers
and the
nobility the
early
twentieth
century.
The castle was
completely
restored and
the rooms keep
intact the
original
frescoes,
furnishings
faithfully
reproduces the
era to relive
the atmosphere
unchanged. Are
still present
secret passage
to the river
Alcantara,
built as
escape routes,
and the
basement
houses the
largest
barrels of the
Kingdom of Two
Sicilies.
After the
massive lava
arch Gothic
portal leads
to the gardens,
creating a
pleasant path
to the
entrance to
the castle on
one side and
the old
stables on the
other, and
lead to the
